My name is Cristina. I'm a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer. I love to mentor and be a facilitator for teams, helping them to be the best version of themselves. Bear in mind that it’s a process that has no magic receipts in here.
I have launched a QA Academy within the organization where I’ve worked, and have been a mentor for all who have an interest in improving themselves, not only in junior roles but also in more senior roles, mostly on how to present a specific topic, consider the audience that will attend, and what benefit they will take from the topic. The end goal is to show how to use their qualities and support, and share tips on how to use them, to improve the work.
I have recently been interviewed by another QA Engineer on social media, where I shared professional and life experiences regarding the career path for QA roles, wins, and challenges that exist in any organization. But most important to highlight the fact that it is important to set a QA mindset in the organization, and the quality is everyone's responsibility, not only the QA Engineers.
Are you interested and motivated to learn more about how to build a QA mindset and different career paths for QAE? Simple things such as what to pay attention to during onboarding of new roles or promotion, how the organization sees QA strategy and QA Policy, and why there is constant pressure to automate everything. These are just some of the examples. This is a space for sharing experiences, and that is what I write about.
In 2022, I took my first Senior QA Engineer role, and it all changed. I accepted a role where there was no limit to suggesting new ideas and improving processes to build a QA policy, strategy, and Master Test Plan and more importantly to improve the communication with and within the teams as well, use the experience from the team and create a QA Academy that was noticed by the VP Engineering and Delivery that wanted to evolve as an Engineering Academy.
My professional goal is to actively help organizations create an impact and improve communication and strategy among the teams. I add support in driving my training and supporting the ideas on the job. This blog will focus on the journey that has been and ideas that could improve and support other QAEs in the process.
